eWebTalk Community Guidelines
While the eWebTalk Community is intended to be a place to share your thoughts, ideas, and opinions freely, the forums follow strict guidelines to promote this environment. All proceeding regulations will have a short code in brackets to correspond to any warnings or alerts that may be issued to you from the moderation team. These abbreviations will then be followed by a number indicating specifically how the regulation was violated. "eWT" is the short abbreviation of "eWebTalk Community".
General Behavior Regulations (GBR):
- Respect the opinions of other members, although you may not agree with them, they are entitled to their opinions.
- Do not flame, insult, or offend other members.
- Treat other members with respect on this board.
- Do not spam our board, this is something which will not be tolerated, if you have something applicable to say that is fine; regulation is discussed more specifically in "Spam Regulations".
- Behave in a mature and respectful fashion, we will not tolerate those who decide to act childish.
- eTools should be used in a proper manner, and excessive use to harm others is prohibited. It is at the discretion of the moderation team to determine what is "excessive".
- Do not attempt to start fights, we will not tolerate this
- Respect ALL Moderators and Administrators, our decisions are made for everyone's best we intend that you respect our decisions.
Any moderation and administration decisions cannot be refuted by general member base of eWT, any course of action taken by a member to publicly denounce this will result in immediate suspension. You may PM the administration if you have any problem, but public posting of your refusal will NOT be accepted.
- Respect new members even if they make a mistake in their posting, we were all new at one time and should receive information on how to do something correctly, not criticism.
Please use the "Report Post to Moderation" button that has "!!!" on it in each post. Any member found to publicly criticize, even if the member is part of the moderation or eWeb Team, will result in disciplinary action from the Super Moderators and Administrators of eWebTalk.
- If you have a private matter to address with a fellow member use the Private Message system, that is what it is for.
- Do not use offensive language on these boards.
Note: It is not the concern of eWebTalk Moderation team if the parties involved know each other personally, offensive language of any nature will NOT be tolerated.
- Do not post other people's private information or information they do not want publicly known on this forum. People have a right to privacy and that right cannot be violated here.
- Do not hide your referral links within resource links such as http://the-site.com/?refer=yourid. This will result in immediate editing of your post and repetitive violation will have severe consequences.
- Any attempt to target and harrass the administeration, publicly, privately as well as through email will result in immediate suspension with no refuting right for the member. Personal IPs will be logged and banned.
- Any libel material found on eWebTalk or anywhere online posted by a member of eWT Community may face legal action as deemed necessary under Canadian Laws. Libel material not only includes eWebTalk, but also any eNet Virtual Property.
Spam Regulations (SPA):
- Post Regulations (POR) abides this
- Advertisment Regulations (AVR) comes in this
eTool Regulations (ETA):
- Comments and actions violating eWebTalk Rules, i..e GBR
- Advertising and self promotion in comments.
- Mimicking eWebTeam through the use of eTools is strictly prohibited.
Signature Regulations (SPR):
- The total amount of pixels in a signature picture may not be bigger than 35000, with a maximum height of 175 and a maximum width of 600. So, if someone wants a signature picture to be 600 wide, the height can be 58 (35000/600) at max and if someone wants it to be 175 high, the maximum width is 200 (35000/175) pixels.
- Signature Pictures must be of an appropriate nature and cannot be of things that may be found offensive, lewd, or inappropriate.
- Keep your Signature information small, and legible so that all who may view it may see it, but not so that it consumes space.
- Signature text can have a maximum of two colours, besides black, and font size cannot exceed 2!
- Do not link directly to Free servers which may require cookies or have a bandwidth limit to host your signature picture.
- Do not link directly to a site which may be of an inappropriate nature.
- Do not use pictures that are copyrighted.
- Signatures may have a maximum of three lines, any more lines will result in your signature being edited.
Avatar Regulations (AAR):
- Avatars must be NO LARGER than 75 pixels in height and 75 pixels in width.
- Avatar pictures must be of an appropriate nature and cannot be of things that may be found offensive, lewd, or inappropriate.
- Do not link directly to Free servers which may require cookies or have a bandwidth limit to host your avatar picture.
- Do not link directly to a site which may be of an inappropriate nature.
- Do not use pictures that are copyrighted.
- Animated avatars that contain advertisements cannot have more than 3 animated frames, but may display static information.
Posting Regulations (POR):
- Post topics in the sections that they should be in, if the subject is off topic, put it there and not in another forum.
- Keep posts on the original topic, if you wish to start a new topic, start it where it belongs.
- Post content which is appropriate, not things of a nature which may be found offensive, lewd or in any other way inappropriate for those who may view it.
- Refrain from posting topics which may lead to fighting on this board, it will not be tolerated.
- Repeated topics will not be tolerated. We understand making one mistake therefore giving you one chance before issuing an alert/warning.
- Threads which are older than 2 months, please do not post in them as they are deemed to old and "reviving the dead" will be violation of this rule. Please consider starting a new thread on the topic.
- Threads which solicit, or entice members to join other forums may be removed if deemed necessary by eWebTalk Administeration
- Double posting is considered spam!
Advertisement Regulations (AVR):
The following regulations apply throughout the forums as well as in General Advertisement Forums. Any specific regulations added to any forum will be added to the following regulations as well.
- You must have ten posts before you can post in General Advertisement Offers Forum.
- You cannot under any circimstances use eWT services (i.e. email and PM systems) to send unsolicited requests. These are considered spam as well as advertisements. PM systems are regulated and report of abuse will result in immediate supsension without any chance to refute decisions
- Posting content that has any links directing to your sites or affiliated sites is considered self-promotion, and will not be tolerated..
- You cannot post any content related to your services outside of General Advertisement Forums or General Advertisement Requests. If you are found to do so, this is considered self-promotion.
- Website reviews cannot have "marketing langauge", i.e. "Company Name is the leading edge...Please register..". This will be considered self-promotion/advertisement.
- You may only post your own website review once you have reviewed two other member sites.
Warning System Rules:
- All users are given a MAXIMUM of ten warnings, upon obtaining the tenth warning you will be banned, or if conditions warrant, you can be banned or your privileges restricted at the discretion of the moderation or administration team.
- You will be given warnings upon breaking any of these rules, the number of warnings will be decided by the moderators and administrators of eWebTalk depending on the severity of the offence.
- New members will receive alerts for any violations, these may be upgraded to warnings at the sole discretion of eWebTalk Moderation Team.
- Each warning results in set number of points given to the user, at certain points, some features of eWebTalk will stop functioning for users that have passed those limits, i.e. ability to send and receive PMs, or use avatars and signatures.
These are the Rules and Regulations for eWebTalk Community. If you do not agree to conform to the rules and regulations we have set, you should not post, we will not tolerate any violations of our policies. Please read these fully to ensure you understand all the rules which are in place. A working and sufficient warning system is in place, and all moderators, at their discretion, can restrict privileges or ban violators if the severity is great, i.e. in some rare cases we will not wait for the warning level to go to 100% to ban. These are the rules in which all members MUST follow and will be EXPECTED to follow. Failure to comply to the Rules and Regulations will constitute as failure to follow our Terms Of Service, and will result in removal of all privilege.
These Terms Of Service may be altered at a later date if the Administration sees the need to do so.
