Here are a few tips to Optimize your webpages, for Google Search Engines (Search Engine Optimization..lol...

This has been updated to accomodate Google Florida Changes)
**************************************************
1. <title> tag - Use one main keyphrase in your title. Include as many combinations of the keyword as possible, but do not repeat the keyword too many time - At most twice. Do not separate phrases with commas.
2.<meta name="description" > - This should be the first metaname used before the keyword metaname and should include the keyphrases used in the title along with an objective description of your page
3. <meta name="keywords" > - These aren't very important so don't focus too much time on them. Simply include a few main keywords and phrases separated by commas (without spaces).
4. Comments - you can include a commented out paragraph which describes the content of your page and includes keyphrases. Be careful with this and don't overuse it or repeat other content exactly.
5. Headings <h1..h2..etc> - Include one or more keyphrases in a section heading. Repeat if there is more than one section and heading. Headings are good for Inktomi and others. Do not repeat the exact terms in headings multiple times. Use variations of your title but don't match your title exactly.
This appears not to be important to Google after Florida
6. Your first paragraph should reflect the meta name description as close as possible.
7. Do not overuse use of <b> <i> <strong> <u>. Use these tags to emphasize your keywords and keyphrases.
8. Make sure you fill in the "ALT" attribute for images. This is a good way to make sure that in case the image loads too slow, or doesn't load, at all it will show a decription of what would have been there.
9. Do not bother Including keywords in the table "summary". Some people do this, but it is a waste of time and could be considered spam if overused.
10. Limit the number of outbound links for Google optimization and increase the number for Inktomi
(A database of sites used by many of the larger search engines like HotBot, MSN etc. For more information, see http://www.inktomi.com)
11. Create links to other pages on your site domain, include descriptive titles (keyphrases), you can make use of the "title" tag, but most people don't think this has any positive effect on SEO, but in fact it does.
12. Repeat a summary of the webpage at the bottom of the page that reflects the "description" and opening paragraph.
13. Make sure your web page content is relevant to the keywords and keyphrases.
14. LINKS LINKS and more LINKS. None of this matters unless you have links to your site. Links let crawlers find your site in MANY links improve your sites ranking. Most importantly, use relevant links which are referred to as localrank.
