I have a site, and the traffic there is not that bad but I check the statistics and see that users leave after seeing a couple of pages. Do you think a chat or something like that would help and does it keep people really? I do not know much about chats, how would I choose a good one?

First, Welcome to eWebTalk camilla Be sure to introduce yourself in our Introductions area

Chats are not the right answer, as it could have a negative impact as well, for example if users come and see an empty chat room, they will think the site has no visitors, and may go away. It depends what kind of a site this is.

I think it's kind of useless. Besides, what good is a visitor doing to you if he's just talking to others?

A plain chat though is not that cool, I came up with idea to make a schedule of topics to discuss and then users come for that specific thing. That really increased traffic.

Welcome to eWebTalk Buffy Be sure to introduce yourself!

You brought forward an excellent point, and one that is very valid, as the sessions can build interest and really make good use of chats.

P.S. Next time do not double post, but edit your post, the only time you may post right after your own is if the time in between is greater than 10 minutes.

Chat won't be of much help to your site. Visitors will talk among themselves which won't help your cause and it will also increase the probability of spam. The general suggestion would be to keep your whole site updated with fresh content and graphics to keep a visitor interested.

I must say it is probably a better idea to start a blog that directly references the title of your domain here is an example I have a web site/blog named http://www.sleekbusiness.com," what I did was simple I went to a free word press blog pr5 http://www.blogurple.com and opened up an account I then named the blog http//www.sleekbusiness.blogurple.com it is here that I added full content about my self and products not to mention it all relates to the content on my web site.
I get all my info from forums like eweb talk and a few articles written by http://videos.webpronews.com/2006/11/10/advice-from-an-seo-expert/ http://as a web master I really fee...eekbusiness.com
Hope this help's you best of luck Aaron R,
