I'm thinking about using texty to update some smaller sites - anybody have experience/feedback to share?

THANKS

Welcome to the forums Laura. Glad to have you with us.

I have no first hand experience with texty, but I definitely don't like the idea of having my website's content dependent on the success of somebody else's website.

Welcome Laura

I pretty much have the same reservation as Nullified, having your content stored with a 3rd party is leaving a large hole for your site to fall through. There are many other simpler CMS out there that can do the job more adequately.
