Hey Everyone,
Wanted your opionions on what makes for a good hosting company, why would you pick a certain one over other's for example, take the poll and post your comment here.
For me, it's actually a combination of factors, good support for me is a must, then features, then price.

I'd have to agree with you, CEO. All of the factors you have mentioned are important when choosing a good web hosting company. I would want to make sure that I am getting the best possible service I can for the money I'm spending.

Yeah for sure, I mean why would you want to pick a company who doesn't even respond to your questions or concerns etc. Good Support shows the client that the business is responsible and confident and actually cares enough to answer questions or when there's a problem they'll fix it. etc

A good hosting company includes the following,
1. a support email system with replies within 2 hours
2. a company you can trust
3. you get other customers saying these guys are hot
4. medium priced and lots of features ie, web space
Thats the most important lot.

webhostau.com, you listed all the options available. We know all options are required when looking for a host, but were asking which was msot important to you. Did you mean that 1 was most important and 2 was next and so on? If so I agree with you.

I've picked other, this is because theres one up there but there is more to it.
What i look at in a hosting site: - Good Tech Support/General Support
- Server Spec(Speed, RAM)
- Datacenter Location
- Server Stats(Uptime)
- Realistic Plans

I personally think fast support is #1. Some of the others go without saying (good server speeds, reasonable price, etc), but if a host wants to keep a customer for the long term, they will have to go out of their way to support their customers as best as they can.
More and more, hosting companies are starting to offer telephone tech support. I don't think it's completely necessary for some.... as long as they have a good support ticketing system where questions are responded to very quickly.
Just some thoughts
