Well as having their own websites i guess you mean own hosts. Yes, there are lots of people now, as the cost of setting up a basic hosting service is alot cheaper and more affordable. But the question after that remains, if its profitable..and that depends on alot of things.
I am a cowner of a hosting company that is going through its development phase, and we initially started as a reseller, but soon outgrew the plans and got our own server

When you say a hosting website do you mean own one? Or just the fact that if they we are hosted by someone? I'm a little bit confused.

Oh I got it, now that we are talking about this topic. I have been thinking in creating one or be a partner with someone that already has one. This can be something interesting for me to do, I'm always doing new stuffs, etc. I have this idea has one of my main ones. Maybe something like Planet Hosting or Hosting Planet

lol if you already know about my future venture to creat my own forum...this is also in there too, and again about two years from now. Right now I am in the learning stages of how these things work and all...hopefully my friends here can teach me some stuff about this. And yes I do also know that it is hard to get a profitable hosting company and that it costs more than a forum...but by then ill have more than enough money for plenty of business ventures (low cost ventures until i get my wanted job and make the money for costly and hopefully successful and profitable ventures).
