So it gets confirmed today that Google will acquire YouTube for 1.65 billion. YouTube is already facing a possibility of several copyright lawsuits...and so is google...what a wonderful partnership lol
Do you guys think it will work out? Yup it will work great to Google's advantage. Allow them to take over Google Video and use what YouTube has to offer and make it an all around good product, provided they do the required work.

I just hope that Google YouTubes Google Video, and that YouTube is Google videoed. In any case, for reasons other then becoming an Internet monopoly, I can't see why Google would buy it. YouTube sucks up so much bandwidth that they loose a lot more money than they make.

Yet shares rose by 10$ as they purchased it and Google is now the 3rd in Internet Video, just behind Yahoo...

The biggest problem with the deal is the potential of lawsuits coming any time..before lawyers were wavering since the guys owning the site had barely any money, meanwhile Google is loaded.
htmlmaster: yeh that would be a good way to go about it, but it will take google some work to get around the way the two systems are indexed
